Land with high solar radiation levels must be identified, and the identified land
must not be forest, pasture or agricultural land, nor must it be a conservation area, a mining site or an area designated for a public project such as a road
or pipeline.
The distance of solar power plants from residential areas should be neither too close nor too far. Being too close creates negative environmental impacts.
Being too far, however, increases the distance to power transmission lines, so this distance must be an ideal one.
To make the most efficient use of solar potential,
it is beneficial for the land to face south.
